There's a popular saying, home sweet home – and it
rings
true according to the data from the American Bureau of Statistics concerning holidays. According to the bureau, the majority of Americans, in the year twenty twenty-one,
chose
to spend their vacations within the United States. From this data, it seems that most citizens preferred to stay within the country during
their
time off, with only about a quarter
deciding
to travel abroad. This trend was similar in Canada, Mexico, and Brazil. However, for
residents
of small countries like Bermuda, nearly eighty percent of them chose to travel internationally. The Bureau also reported that the car remains the
most common
means of transportation for holiday travels. However, only in Hawaii and Alaska is air travel more
popular
. In the continental USA, around sixty percent of the population
traveled
by car for holidays, just under
four
percent flew, and roughly a fifth took trains, with the same fraction
opting for
buses.
